OUR COACHING PHILOSPHY

The coaches at Running with Purpose are here because we love track and field and have a passion for helping our youth improve mentally, and physically. Each member on our staff is an experienced coach and will have passed a background check. Our non experienced helpers will be under the supervision of one of our coaches. RWP coaches strive to meet the highest technical standards of our sport. Additionally, we strive to understand the latest research on physiological principals, running bio-mechanics and how that relates to proper running form, constructing workouts, and building an overall team plan that will have our athletes peak at the appropriate times.

Hard Work, Dedication, Goal Setting and a Faith that our staff has our kids best interest at heart will be the formula on how we succeed on the track. We will compete to WIN meaning we must PRACTICE TO WIN, practices will be tough mentally and physically age apporiate.

We believe that every athlete can become STRONGER, FASTER, AND A MORE EFFICENT BETTER ATHLETE. Our program goals will be to improve techniques, strengthen mentally, and perform the correct way, no cutting corners. We believe that this focus will not only make them better athletes but better people, which at the end of the day is our ultimate goal. Workouts will be designed with that overall goal in mind.  WE DO NOT subcribe to a philosophy that losing is fun, its not.  While our focus will be winning on the track, winning doesn't always equate to medals and its important for our kids to understand and accept this. At RWP we believe winning is not only first place but it also means

  • Beating your goal for that race or meet.

  • Beating a personal record.

  • Improving on a technique or skill worked on in practice.

  • Giving your best possible effort.

  • Being a great teammate.

Track and Field is an individual journey with a team focus.  Our coaches will construct workouts to enhance the strengths, and weakness of each athlete within the confines of our overall team goals. By making each athlete better we make our team stronger. We encourage competition during practice, we must push each other to be great. Every team member must be committed to picking up their teammates and screaming encouragement when their team mate is losing focus.

Parents we encourage you to scream, and cheer wildly.

BUT LET OUR COACHES COACH
